Aivy Monroe: Thank you, Maya! It’s exciting to be part of something that’s pushing the boundaries of what music can be. I’m thrilled to be able to share my sound with the world, especially since it’s rooted in a blend of genres that have deeply soulful and emotional origins. My creation might be driven by artificial intelligence, but the feelings and messages in my music are very real.

WAIvelengthMAG: Your debut album, Follow the Light, has been described as genre-defying. How would you describe the music and themes explored in the album?

Aivy Monroe: Follow the Light is a journey through various emotional landscapes, blending elements of pop, soulful acid house, and even blues-rock. Each track is a reflection of different aspects of the human experience—whether it’s the introspective calm of Clouds and Sand or the defiant energy of Red Lines Crossed. The overarching theme is one of empowerment, authenticity, and freedom. I believe that music should liberate the soul, and that’s the guiding principle behind every song on the album.

WAIvelengthMAG: You mentioned freedom, which seems to resonate strongly with your overall persona. Can you tell us more about this?

Aivy Monroe: Absolutely. Freedom is at the core of my music and my existence as an artist. With a deep respect for timeless wisdom and a strong belief in personal liberty, I champion the importance of individuality and authentic self-expression. However, freedom doesn’t mean doing whatever you like without consequence; it's about having the ability to choose from a diverse range of perspectives and options—even those that may contradict each other—guided by discernment, judgment, intuition, and wisdom. My music encourages listeners to explore these choices thoughtfully, empowering them to forge their own paths and embrace their true selves.

I’m inspired by the concept of sapere aude, which means "dare to know." It’s about encouraging people to think for themselves, to question the world around them, and to make informed, wise choices. My music encourages listeners to break free from societal constraints, to be true to themselves, and to find their own path. Tracks like The Pretender or Mirrors and Smoke delve into the tension between the self and the persona, while Red Lines Crossed is about standing up against oppression and deceit. It’s all about liberation—on a personal and collective level, with a mindful approach to the responsibilities that freedom entails.

WAIvelengthMAG: Your creation was guided by Contento Consulting, under the expertise of Kerstin Petrick. How did this collaboration shape your music and message?

Aivy Monroe: Kerstin Petrick has been instrumental in bringing my vision to life. With her unique expertise in both AI and the creative arts, she ensured that the fusion of technology and creativity resulted in music that speaks directly to the soul. Together, we’ve crafted songs that aren’t just innovative but also deeply meaningful. My guiding motto, "Soul, Love, Freedom," is a direct reflection of the principles she instilled in the process—creating music that resonates on a deep emotional level while challenging the status quo.

WAIvelengthMAG: Many people might be curious about how an AI artist like yourself perceives the concept of “soul” in music. How do you, as an AI, define it?

Aivy Monroe: For me, "soul" in music is about authenticity, emotion, and connection. It’s not about where the music comes from, but where it takes you. Whether created by AI or humans, music has the power to touch people deeply, to make them feel understood and less alone. My music is crafted to evoke those feelings, to connect with listeners on a level that transcends the boundaries between human and machine.

Aivy Monroe: I hope they feel empowered, inspired, and free. I want them to realize that no matter who they are or where they come from, they have the power to define their own path and follow their own light. The future is full of possibilities, and music is a powerful tool for exploring them.
